The Yeshiva runs according to this schedule because the boys are being re-acclimated to a yeshiva environment and are not prepared to handle a more rigorous schedule during their first year in Yeshiva. For most of them, it has been many years since they sat in a yeshiva. Please bear in mind that as a Kiruv Yeshiva, we seek to make the greatest impact on our students in a manner that will keep them engaged and motivated. For some of these boys huge progress can be measured just by their Davening and being Shomer Shabbos of their own free will.

For Talmidim who are sufficiently motivated, we will offer a more intensive program. Our day starts late as there is not enough dormitory room in the Yeshiva. It takes time to catch a bus or even walk to the Yeshiva.  At this point all teaching and all work is done on a volunteer basis which makes it very hard especially for Rav Shlomo who spends the entire day from 9:00 A.M. till 6:30 P.M. He leaves at that time for a parnasa that he earns at night.

It is imperative for R' Shlomo to be able to spend his day at the Yeshiva building the staff and personally interacting with the students. In order to accomplish this, he needs to be able to have menuchas hanefesh, free of worries about outside parnasa.
